Christmas Ornament

A little Christmas ornament we have had for years that always finds its way on display each year. The Santa got some extra love from one of the girls when they were little so is now firmly super glued back on!!

This year we are having Christmas on the road, as we wait for the arrival of a new baby, a first for my sister and her husband in Hamilton due right on Christmas. So it’s off to Hamilton for a pizza party at special friends on Christmas eve then coffee /bubbles in the morning at my other sisters where we will be hi-jacking a bed, before champagne brunch with Mum & Dad and a favourite uncle!

Hopefully we will be wetting the baby’s head by this stage!

Then on the road to Matamata for a late Christmas lunch and dinner with my husband’s family before heading to the family home at Waihi Beach for boxing Day to recover!   Even though I mentioned sparkling wine twice in that last sentence, I have the feeling I will be the sober driver! I must make up for it at New Year’s when we are in Waiheke for the week – I can’t wait.

I have made the list ….gravlax of salmon, scampi or jumbo prawns on the BBQ, beef wellington, duck fat potatoes, Mum’s meringues, Nana’s recipe for double shot sherry trifle, lots of good smelly cheese and plenty of ham and salads to get my five + a day in!

Wishing everyone a joyful Christmas day and lots of fun times for New Years and the Holidays
